Business Brigade
What is the Global Business Brigade?
The Global Business Brigade is a part of Global Brigades here at Pitt that focuses on teaching sustainable business practices to people in rural communities around the world. The people in these communities do no have access to financial services or business guidance. The brigade works in Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Ghana.
What does the Global Business Brigade do?
Pitt takes a brigade to one of these communities where they work with local business owners to teach financial literacy, business development counseling, and promote community-based credit savings. This year our brigade will be taking a trip to Panama over Spring Break. On this trip, members of the brigade are able to work closely with community members, and become truly emerged in the culture of the community they serve.
Why should I get involved?
Global Business Brigades is open to members from all backgrounds, all majors, and all interests to help encourage economic development. Members will gain new perspective of the world, understand the challenges rural communities are facing, and engage in a once in a lifetime experience.
